After a short 15-minute walk via the Ponte Garibaldi bridge you will reach Piazza Venezia (also accessible via tram line 8 which stops outside the b&b) and Via dei Fori Imperiali, where you can visit the archaeological excavations of Ancient Rome and the Colosseum. Nearby are also some of the most prestigious shopping streets in Rome, including Via del Corso, Via Condotti and Via Frattina. The beautiful Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona are only a further 10 minutes away. Furthermore, if you walk from our b&b along the romantic left bank of the River Tiber for about 20 minutes, you will see some of the other famous attractions, such as the Basilica of St. Peter's, Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and the historic Mausoleum of Hadrian.

From Termini Train Station

  • Take bus route H and get off at the 'Sonnino/S. Gallicano' stop, which is in front of the b&b.

From Fiumicino Airport

  • Go to the FS train station inside the terminal 'Leonardo Da Vinci' and take the train 'Leonardo Express' to Termini Train Station (departs every 30 minutes from 06.36 am and 11.36pm and costs 14 Euros). There is only one stop. Then follow the 'From Termini Train Station' directions. Alternatively, take the train line Fara Sabina-Fiumicino (FM1) and get off at Trastevere Station. From here, take the tram line 8 which is about 300 metres away.

From Ciampino Airport

The location of our b&b is in the very old and historical heart of the Trastevere district of Rome. Here you can take romantic walks through the alleys and little streets of Rome, where there are an numerous restaurants serving typical Roman cuisine. A 5-minute walk away is the quaint restaurant 'LA PAROLACCIA', where besides tasting some excellent typical cuisine, you will witness a very entertaining little show of the "roma popolana" (Common people of Rome).

Several pubs with live music are the framework for this fascinating Roman fresco. One of the most fun is the 'PAROLACCIA & SONS', where you will find friendly staff preparing delicious and colourful cocktails.

Just a few steps away is Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, where the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere stands; the most important church in the area. Also close by is the Church of Sant'Agata, where inside you will find the wooden statue of the 'Madonna del Carmine', which is the inspiration for the 'DE NOANTRI'. This is a typical fiesta of Trastevere that usually starts around mid July and lasts for 10 days.

If you carry on walking, you will arrive at the JANICULUM hill, which offers some truly amazing panoramas. Here you have the impression of ROME literally at your feet, with one of the best views of the Italian Capital.
